Assignment and Objectives
Students will choose a person whose life they will research. There must be a published biography of that person. Students will gather information from multiple print and online sources to learn about the person's early life, family, education, accomplishments and awards, challenges or conflicts, influence on others and demonstration of Viking values (respect, responsibility, integrity and courage.)
Media Center literacy skills to be demonstrated include:
1. Basic keyword searching in online databases and e-books to locate relevant information.2. Taking notes from multiple sources (databases, web site and print) 3. Locating and evaluating websites for credibility, accuracy and currency. 4. Identifying and properly citing source information.
