Persuasive Speech Project

Overview

Persuasion may do one of three things.  It may:
1.    create a belief, behavior or attitude
2.    reinforce an existing belief, behavior or attitude.
3.    change an existing belief, behavior or attitude.

Assignment and Objectives

                    Your assignment is a persuasive research paper and a persuasive speech. 

                         You are required to do the following for your persuasive project:

       Ø      Make a three-ten minute speaking presentation

       Ø      Create and use a visual aid(s) to enhance your presentation

       Ø      Write a final draft research paper that contains proper internal citations

                                              and a proper Works Cited page using a minimum of three

                                              different source types

       Ø      Persuade your audience by incorporating expert testimony, facts, and

                                             data into your speech

       Ø      Leave your audience with a call to ACTION!

                           Media Center objectives:
                            You will:

                                    Ø follow a defined research process in identifying your topic, searching
                                                 for resources,evaluating, collecting and synthesizing information.

                                                                       
Ø    utilize specific strategies in searching online databases, Internet   
                                                  and print sources to locate relevant information.

    Ø    evaluate your research process to identify improvements you could
                        
make in future research
