K-5 Enrichment Services
Mrs. Arlene ErikBernards Township’s K-5 enrichment model is characterized by four key elements: classroom connections, building enrichment teams, district enrichment team, and a talent pool in grades 3 - 5. The effective implementation of the program is contingent on the interaction between the four elements. The talent pool list is a flexible list of students who are identified through test scores or teacher recommendations. The classroom element is vital in that high ability students spend most of their time in the regular classroom. The interaction between the enrichment teacher and classroom teacher will provide differentiated opportunities for the high ability student. The District Enrichment Team will meet often to discuss and evaluate implementation of enrichment program while the Building Enrichment Teams will meet to discuss site issues.
