Media Specialist: Mrs. Connie Rose

Welcome to the Cedar Hill School Media Center!  Our collection consists of approximately 18,000 print and nonprint materials such as books, magazines, videos, CD-ROMS and read along tapes/books. There are 12 computers used for research and book selection. Mrs. Piccoline is our part-time aide who is here for 2 hours and 15 minutes daily.  We have over 60 parent volunteers. Without the help of parent volunteers, the library would not be able to function.   Students are encouraged to borrow more books as soon as they return those they have finished reading.  It is rare that a child cannot check out a book even if he/she has forgotten to return one.  Our circulation at Cedar Hill School is extremely high: last year we circulated over 35,000 books!

Children come to the library as a class once a week to learn information skills, do research, and checkout books. The total number of classes is 26, each 50 minutes long except Kindergarten which is 30 minutes. Children may return books and checkout new ones at any time.
