This was a Regular Meeting of the Board of Education of Bernards Township.
Notice of the time and place of this meeting was provided and copies of that
resolution were forwarded to the official newspaper as designated by the
Board of Education and to the Township Clerk and a copy of the notice was
posted on the bulletin board of Cedar Hill Annex.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT
1) The Bernards Township Board of Education does hereby approve the designation of the Bernardsville News as official newspaper for the 2004-05 school year.
2) The Bernards Township Board of Education does hereby appoint the firm of O’Neill and Lang as school district auditors for the 2004-05 school year. This contract is awarded without competitive bidding as a “professional service” under the provisions of the local public contracts law as a recognized profession, licensed and regulated by law, and due to the technical and unique character of this field of endeavor wherein experience and knowledge cannot be practically measured.
3) The Bernards Township Board of
Education does hereby appoint the law firm of Sills Cummis Epstein &
Gross as Board Attorneys for the 2004-05
school year. This contract is awarded
without competitive bidding as a “professional service” under the provisions of
the local public contracts law as a recognized profession, licensed and
regulated by law, and due to the technical and unique character of this field
of endeavor wherein experience and knowledge cannot be practically measured.
4) The Bernards Township Board of Education does hereby appoint Monica Butler as Public Law 504 Coordinator and Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator, Regina Rudolph as Affirmative Action Officer, John Murray as New Jersey State Integrated Pest Management Coordinator, John Murray as Attendance Officer, John Murray as Qualified Purchasing Agent, and John Murray as Public Agency Compliance Officer and Public Employees Occupational Safety and Health Act Coordinator for the 2004-05 school year.
5) The Bernards Township Board of Education does hereby appoint the Spiezle Architectural Group as the architectural firm of record for the 2004-05 school year.
This contract is awarded without competitive bidding as a “professional service” under the provisions of the local public contracts law as a recognized profession, licensed and regulated by law, and due to the technical and unique character of this field of endeavor wherein experience and knowledge cannot be practically measured.

12) The Bernards Township Board of Education does hereby approve the following statements which are reflective of the policy of the Board of Education and will be published at least annually in newsletters or related information publications of the Bernards Township Board of Education along with the names, addresses and phone numbers of the Affirmative Action Officer, the Public Law 504 Coordinator and the Public Employees Occupational Safety and Health Act Coordinator (PEOSHA) for the 2004-05 school year:

Student Representative Greg Shurts remarked on the schedule for the senior class make-up of snow days and the student support for Relay-for-Life. Board Secretary, the Board Secretary’s Monthly Certification of Budgetary Line
Item Status and monthly investment report for March 2004 and the Treasurer’s
reports for January 2004 and February 2004 certifying that all reports
are in agreement; and further
BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.13(e), the Bernards
Township Board of Education, after review of the Secretary’s Monthly Financial
Report and upon consultation with the appropriate district officials, and to
the best of their knowledge, certifies that as of the date of the Secretary’s
Monthly Financial Report, no major account or fund has been over expended and
that sufficient funds are available to meet the district’s financial
obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year.

WHEREAS the exterior windows at the Cedar Hill School, Oak Street School, and the Liberty Corner School have deteriorated to such a point as to effect the health, safety, and well-being of the students, and
WHEREAS a careful and thorough inspection and evaluation of the windows by the Spiezle Architectural Group have indicated that a complete replacement is necessary, and
WHEREAS the window replacement project is part of the district’s Long Range Facility Plan, and
WHEREAS the Spiezle Architectural Group has determined that the estimated cost for this project is $1,000,000, and
WHEREAS the window replacement project must be completed during a non-occupied time during the summer of the next three years
THEREFORE, let it be resolved that the Bernards Township Board of Education approves the replacement of the windows at the Cedar Hill School, Oak Street School, and the Liberty Corner School and, furthermore, submits plans and specifications to the Department of Education, Division of Facility and Transportation.
